James Meyers

James began playing the fiddle at age 10 before transitioning to banjo for a couple years. But ultimately, he found his passion in the guitar, drawn to its versatility for both rhythm and lead playing. Growing up playing in the family band, forming bands with friends, and attending festivals and contests, he has found the social aspect of music to be a continual source of inspiration and joy. In teaching he focuses on the practical application of music theory and ear training, giving students the skills and knowledge to bridge genre gaps and comfortably join in a wide range of musical settings.
